Review

I was given guest access to the program and books in order to review Stepping Stones Together and I've got to tell you I am really impressed.  My son loves the books and he's really starting to read.  He has fun coloring the pages and he's starting to recognize several of the sight words.  The stories are short enough that they keep his attention and the follow up questions are great.  From the first day he started picking things up, he likes the stories and topics.  The incentive chart is really great, Jordan loves putting on stickers for each book he reads, it's a great motivational tool.  I definitely recommend this program for children struggling or learning to read.

  1. The program focuses on 220 high-frequency words and 95 nouns. We are just beginning to teach our son to read - he loves to read anything with words and has caught on surprisingly quick. However, a program like this could be another very useful tool besides our normal books, games, and flashcards.

  5. To see if your child is ready to learn, check out the 4 sets of criteria in the FAQs section. One is knowing their alphabet out of order.

  8. I learned that they pulled the high frequency words from three different reading programs - looking at over 10,000 words to choose.
